  River Bank Fishing Trips offer a true angling experience, enjoying the true beauty of Alaska, and staying away from the big crowds.  If you desire to come up to Alaska and go fishing without spending all day in a boat, try our Full Day or Half Day Guided River Bank Fishing Trips on some of the most pristine waters in the world.  The Homer area has a number of great locations for river bank fishing, which is a great relaxing family activity for the day, with no experience required. We will provide you with all the gear you’ll need, and match you with a professional guide to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable fishing experience.  Our clients range from the advanced fly fisherman to a novice beginner. 

Anchor River

The Anchor River is located in Anchor Point, 15 miles north of Homer, AK.  In late May and Early June, the King Salmon run offers great river bank fishing, averaging 20-28 Lbs.  Open for King Fishing Sat. Sun. Mon and Weds.  Silver Salmon run in August – September, Steelhead run from Mid – August through Oct.  Rainbow Trout and Steelhead are catch and release only, and can't be taken out of the water.  Barbless hooks work best for releasing fish and to ensure the future of the run.

Deep Creek & Ninilchik River

                     

The Ninilchek and Deep Creek are Located in the town of Ninilchek, 40 miles north of Homer.  In late May and Early June, the King Salmon run offers great fishing, averaging 20-25 Lbs.  Open for Fishing Sat. Sun. & Mon. using the same regulation dates as the Anchor River in most cases.  The fall offers a Silver Salmon run, along with great Steelhead fishing.  When fishing on the lower Kenai Peninsula, it is always a good idea to fish the Ninilchek and Deep Creek on your way down to the Anchor River.

Kasilof River

    

The Kasilof River, located 20 Miles south of Soldotna, is fished by drift boat or river bank fishing. You can catch King Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Silver Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden and Steelhead.  A drift boat trip may cost a little more, but you will see more river and accessible bank fishing.  River Bank fishing is great way to quick and easy access the river for some great fishing all year long and only limited by the number of places available.  Steelhead fishing in the spring and fall can be spectacular.

Kenai River – Middle and Lower River

(Below Skilak Lake to Cook Inlet)

      

The mighty Kenai offers some great drift boat and river bank fishing for Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden, Sockeye and Silver Salmon.  King Salmon have two runs, in June and July, (check Regs. for closures) and only the lower river offers trips for Kings.  There are 2 runs of Sockeye, June thru August.  In mid to late July, the 2nd Sockeye run starts, making river bank fishing a great way to fill a cooler with the best of the Salmon to take home.  Book one of our Full or Half Day “Hike In” River Bank Fishing trips. Drift boat trips are a great way to see and enjoy the Kenai River.  Available for the Upper Kenai River, including “The Canyon” when weather is permissible.  One day with a guide who can show you the tricks of the trade and you and your family can have a fishing adventure of a lifetime.  Limit of 3 sockeye can be upgraded to 6 sockeye per day when escapement is reached.

Humpy Creek

Humpy Creek offers a unique opportunity to get across to the Kachemak Bay State Park.  We take a water taxi from the Homer Boat Harbor, 45 min. across Kachemak Bay, where we can catch King Salmon, Chum Salmon, Dolly Varden, and maybe see a black bear on our trip.  Hip boots or chest waders are required for this trip, which we can provide if you don’t have your own.  This is a Full Day guided river bank fishing trip, because of having to plan the time according to the tides for drop off and pick-up.

Full Day  $425 per person

(6 hours)  Water taxi and State Park Fee included.

 

Hike-In River Bank Trips

Cooper Landing Area:

You will enjoy some great Rainbow Trout Fishing along with Dolly Varden, Sockeye and Silver Salmon.

Quarts Creek

              We use two locations on Quartz Creek near the Cooper Landing area to meet and home base for the day.  Great Rainbow and Dolly Varden fishing is available.

Crescent Creek

                   Just minutes from Cooper landing, we meet for Crescent Creek at the bridge, where we will give you exact directions to find our secret meeting place.  When the Sockeye are in, the Rainbow and Dolly Varden Fishing can be incredible.

Ptarmigan Creek

                   One of our coolest trips with a hike into a beautiful lake, 3 miles in off the highway and follow it all the way down to where it dumps into Kenai Lake.  Nice size Rainbows and Dolly’s are what you can expect to catch, usually in late July and August.
